About the Satellite Centres

As a result of the work done with the satellite centres, it was recognised that by working together with other workspace and office providers, we could share best practice, enhance the offer we provide to our customers, and promote small business growth in Swindon and Wiltshire.

From this The Swindon and Wiltshire Enterprise Network has been formed which meets quarterly. All members sign a members charter, which is upheld by the Network Co-ordinator. We always have a speaker who presents on a topic of mutual interest and discuss issues that are effecting us all.

In addition to creating its own dedicated Enterprise Centres, TEN is also investing £1m from Defra’s Rural Growth Network funding to support six other workspace hubs and business centres across Wiltshire  to develop their offer to start-ups and growing micro businesses.

The Glove Factory Studios

The Glove Factory Studios, Holt near Trowbridge received almost £160,000 to extend its site to create offices for 20 start-up and growing small businesses. Glove Factory Studios is a workspace hub made up of start-ups, creative entrepreneurs and independent professionals who have the opportunity to work collaberatively. The studios are set in a restored former Glove Factory with views across open countryside with easy access to mainline trains and the M4.

Wiltshire College's 3D Enterprise Centre

Wiltshire College’s 3D Enterprise Centre at its Wiltshire College Chippenham Campus (below) received just over £173,000 to help create a technology-focused hub offering 3D design and prototyping facilities for small businesses to use. The centre has 5 Solidworks licences, allowing you to produce 2D drawings, 3D imaged parts and has full 3D CAD capabilities, along with a certified Solidworks professional at your disposal.

Shambles Market Hall

Eleven new retail units – perfect for start-ups – have been created within the historic Shambles Market Hall in Devizes. A grant of £102,000 was awarded to the project which has resulted in a new lease of life for the building. Perfect for retail entrepreneurs who would like to test the market before committing to a more traditional retail outlet.

Elcot Park, Marlborough

Elcot Park, Marlborough is using its £141,000 grant to provide incubation space for start-ups within the development of the existing business park. The site provides office space, storage facilities and workshops for small businesses.

Butts Business Centre, Chiseldon

Butts Business Centre, Chiseldon has expanded to include two additional light industrial units and an office for hot-desking, using its £106,000 grant.Conveniently  located within five minutes of junction 15 on the M4, it is an ideal meeting point between Bristol and London.
